Lorie Howard

Lori Howard
Athletic Director

Known fondly as “Coach,” Lorie Howard came to Salem from Westchester Academy where she was named “Coach of the Year.” Miss Howard has been at Salem for 28 years, coaching such sports as tennis, basketball, soccer and teaching physical education. She serves as the Director of Athletics. Miss Howard started the All-Sports Camp at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Philadelphia, Pa. and the Salem Sports Camp for Kids in Winston-Salem. She is known around school for her creative student nicknames, her Saber spirit (“Salem Pride, You know”), and her “peace” salute. Miss Howard is devoted to her “baby dog, Hydee”, but she is also an avid photographer and scrap booker, and she is an expert on the Amish. She has traveled on many of the Salem school trips to England, France, Australia and New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Hawaii. Passionate about tennis, Miss Howard is a sportswoman who plays the piano as well.  You can generally find her on weekends playing tennis.
